The inevidable happenned...Yup the OD of the spindles was too far undersize from the SAE to Metric "reinversion".. So get the "electric eraser" going..In the end all is well..But dont you know it the customer called and said he wanted to change the angle in the knock off's from 50 degrees to 45 degrees..So after each spindle is threaded i put a faced off piece of tubing on the spindle and tightened the knock off up (backwards) to re-cut the angle before the piece even comes out of the lathe..you would want to go by the thread to do this anyway so everything is true..but these knock offs are now married to the spindle it was re-cut on..and thats the way the spindle turns...i get all the fun jobs.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:i could have just threaded them..but the thread would have been too "small" for my liking...040 dont seem like much..But a $150K Cobra loosing a wheel at high speed dont look too good as i replay the tape in my head...So better safe than sorry...and besides I made them... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
