any one know any thing about computer LED screens

lately my screen has started going realy dark for no reason, its not off just so dark you can barly see any thing?? turn it off and on again no change but if you unplug the power and then plug it back in its good to go again??? is it time for the scrap heap or is there a easy (cheap ) fix for it??? summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:could also be the video card in the computer itself..the 'puter at the shop overheated one day..now wherever you type..there is a picture..text of any kind..it leaves dark streaks across the screen...if we shut it off overnite its fine...untill it gets warmed up again..my cousin Al builds custom 'puters and says it definatly happens...if you can borrow a monitor then try a swap to see whats going on.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:i dont think its related to the computer, if i pull the power plug(to the screen only) and replug it in the screen lights up again.i do have one of the old type but no acces to another thin one like this one.i supose pulling it apart will do no harm at some point as its going black more often now, soon it will be only a mater of moments between blackouts i supose at thet point nothing realy to lose. i guess i better bring the old dinasore one in for a back up. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
