Is the extra $70 worth the upgrade? or would I be better suited going with the 9100x and the head cover/crown add on?Use: recreational possibly occupation.glass difference is 2.1x4.2 = 9100x ( claims 9.12 sq")vs 2.8x4.2 = 9100xx ( claims 12.11 sq")battery life on the 9100xx is cut down by nearly 500-600 hours...Last edited by Crawford; 03-23-2010 at 03:53 PM.
Reply:Took the dive and just ordered the 9100xx and head cover from cyberweld... insanely expensive, but I'm sure it'll pay for itself pretty quickly.

I have never been fond of welding caps/beenies, so I opted for the extra protection. IMHO, far better, especially for 6010+++ overhead.

Reply:Originally Posted by blehenyYou should not have the problem of the glare with the 9100, if you are you need to adjust it to fit your head properly. Same goes for the destruction of welding hats, if you are going through hats like that it either needs adjusted or something. I have had the same 2 beanies for over 3 years and they are still in good condition. I weld pretty much 12 hours a day 5-6 days a week and atleast 75% of it is with 6010 and overhead. Maybe adjust your body position if you are having that much trouble... |
