Reply:just a few more spreaders and the main structure is finished, then focus ****s to mounting the new custom rear axle housing, and airshocks.... Reply:Nice work Stomper....but I'd be careful welding on that galv.It creates ZnO (Zinc Oxide Fume) and can make you sick and/or cause "Metal Fume Fever" if exposed enough. Nausea, chills, headache, fever, fatigue, etc...are some of the symptoms.Make sure you have PLENTY of ventilation or a respirator when welding on it. I myself won't touch galvanized after getting sick once but maybe somebody else who welds it on a regular basis can give you some other/better pointers.- Paulhttp://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories
Reply:I don't weld much galvanized either but I did just weld a pipe/coupling  yesterday. It was a pipe for a water jet used to jet soil out when putting pilings in water. Anyway, I just grind where I'm welding first and don't weld too much at a time.Truggy looks great, BTW! I'm into atv's, buggies, baja bugs, etc so I'm really diggin it. Oh, and my last truck was a Toyota 4x4.Always looking for another old VW, especially in the southeast.
