I was just out tonight playing around and heres what I came up with. Nothing special just 2" sch40 tigged on to a piece of channel. Did it with the thunderbolt with 1/16th filler and tungsten. I must say that little machine is one he!! of a Tig welder. I never used a "true" Miller Tig welder but I can just imagine that it would leave me speechless if a little Miller stick welder can produce welds like this.Enjoy! Reply:Rich,First. Very nice. What are the specifications on the thunderbolt I havent heard of that model?
Reply:They look good from afar, pics are kinda far away. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:nice welds, do you have any close ups?
Reply:I have trouble getting good clear pics in the shop, it must be the flurescent lights because i can go in the house and take pics like the second one and get great detail. And yes i'm using the macro mode feature on my camera. The thunderbolt is a AC/DC stick welder the Miller equivilent to the lincoln AC/DC 225/125, but the Miller has a few more DC amps than the lincoln at about 160amps. Head on over to www.millerwelds.com and look for it there, it'll have completes specs. More detail than I can tell you. Attached ImagesCharlesThunderbolt AC/DCRed Flames BWELincoln sp-135t

J/K Keep it going... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:very nice with the thunderbolt, was that a air cooled torch without amp control?
Reply:Yes the torch is a 150 amp 17-fv welding nozzle international torch. Set the amps on the machine and go to town. I use the foot control at work on a pt 185 and its great for bench work but i've been in some postions that i was almost begging for a finger control or just scratch start.CharlesThunderbolt AC/DCRed Flames BWELincoln sp-135t |
