I haven't had much chance to practice till now. Picked up a bunch of 1/8 " coupons from a friend. So, Millermatic 211, set by the chart at 4.5/65. There was one T joint that I upped it to 70. My eyes and inexperience can't tell if there is a difference. Please let me know what you think. any help is appreciated. I know that I need to work on my consistency for distance. They get wider and narrow as I go.I am starting a MIG course on Tuesday evening. 4 hrs per night on Tues and Thurs for a total of 48 hours. I'm really looking forward to it. Attached ImagesBill
Reply:Two more of a Butt Weld. Not sure why I didn't get full penetration on the ends. Thanks again for the help Attached ImagesBill
Reply:Good practices welds Mr. Bill. Penetration like that doesn't necessary mean complete fusion when it comes to short circuit mig. If you can grind both sides of the plate flat and cut a sample strip out and bend it. A bend test will really show if you have complete fusion or not, then you can adjust accordingly.
Reply:Thanks Jay. I appreciate the input.Bill |
