I'm looking to setup my own welding truck, I have a 2001 3/4 ton Chev pick up long box and a Miller Trailblazer. I'm looking for something that will get me up and running. im not sure where to put the welder, acetylene tanks etc. any help would be great.
Reply:i have a different truck but i think there are a couple of things to do no matter what your setup- i put my acetylene in the corner of the tray where i can quickly and easily turn it off if i need to. i have my engine drive mounted halfway between the axles, with enough room around it so i can access the motor to service it and check fluids, and so it can breathe. you need to consider refuelling convenience too.after that it is a matter of working your boxes, vice, racks etc around the engine drive.thats my 2 cents anyway..... |
