Reply:Dude, the pics didn't post that long ago, and it is the middle of the day, give them a few minutes. The Lord has declared, "This is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man"  Moses 1:39Link: My name is John, and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.-- ColdCreekWorks.com --
Reply:Well, it looks like a blue Rocco 120V-input stick welder to me.    The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:K I'll research that. Thanks moon rise
Reply:Umm, dude, in case you missed the laughing guy in my post, that was humor. If your reply was humor as well, a 'laughing guy' helps to convey that as well. It's blue.  The name Rocco is written on it.  The power plug looks like a 120V 'standard' household plug.  The wires coming out are an electrode holder and a work clamp for stick welding.Without any labels or other info, it's all just guesses. There are no labels or other information anywhere on the machine?  That makes it kind of tough to know what it is.  But it looks like the one side panel with the power switch maybe was supposed to have a slider in that long horizontal slot and there may have been a label on that side panel as well.  And the black knob/dial thing on the end is a mystery as well, especially with no label there either. Unless some -else- just so happens to have a blue Rocco 120V stick welder   , and then maybe they can tell you with more certainty something else about the machine.  The best laid schemes ... Reply:No I didn't get it as humor.     Wow that's funny!  Sry I am new to welding and have no idea if there's a brand ever called. Rocco
Reply:I did not mean to make fun of you, sorry. I have never seen a welder anything like this. I am pretty sure someone here had to have seen one. If no luck maybe try over on Hobart's Weld Talk or Weldfabzone. Have you plugged it in to try it?"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:No.  As u can see there aren't any amp numbers
Reply:Is it a standard 110v plug? The side slot looks like it has a pointer in it, and that if you turned the round black knob on the end you might get the pointer to move, if so, one end is low amps and the other high amps. Plug it in, put a 3/32" rod in it and fire it up.No ba!!s, no blue chips!Just my  opinion, not from a book, just from the road.Howes Welding Inc.www.howesweldinginc.com
Reply:My guess is that it is a campbell hausfeld, based purely on the color, and the fact that it looks like its made in china. If you cannot convince them, confuse them.         Harry S Truman
Reply:I'll try the 3/16" rod

Reply:Better try 3/32" rod, I would try E6013.City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Iron is taken from the earth, and copper is smelted from ore."Job 28:1,2Lincoln, Miller, Victor & ISV BibleDanny
Reply:The first thing that comes to mind for me would be a battery powered welder. Can (well, you can, are you willing to) open it up and take some pics? I wouldn't recommend that unless you are more than positive you can get it open, look inside, and get it back together without mishap. If not, maybe take it to a friend who has "the knack"Just a whim Originally Posted by SundownIIISometimes it's better to remain silent and be thought the fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.
Reply:go to walmart and buy a small pack of 7014, 6013, or 6011s.  in the size of 3/32 or 1/16.  I prefer the 3/32.  the dial is your amps.  I would turn it all the way to max and strike a rod.  turn you heat down if you need to, but you most likely won't need to cause these rods have a wide amp range.   also practice on some 10 ga.  any of those rods should work.  the 7014 would be the easiest, then the 6013, and last is the 6011.i would spend some time reading posts on here and looking at pictures of what these rods can do and how to work them.also, don't give up welding if you can't get it right.  it might be your welder.  I would keep an eye out for a used ac stick welder.  you can find them at almost any pawn shop.  miller, lincoln and hobart are extremely reliable, century, forney and sears/craftsman will also serve you well if you find one in good shape.  I prefer the former three over the latter three.don't get hung up on ac verses dc.  It doesn't make as much difference as some make it out to.  sure there is a noticeable difference in sound and splatter, but the welds are just as strong.  one thing I see from guys i help.  they think changing from ac to dc will magically help them weld better.  nope.  it doesn't happen like that.  if ya can't weld with ac then ya can't weld with dc.good luck and post some pics of your welds.
Reply:I'll try and open it up maybe there's a brand on the inside.  Thanks Scott I'll be sure to post some of my first welds with this....    I didn't no walmart sells welding rods.  I'll deffinetly check it out.  Thanks again for the insparation and help. Reply:This welder is similar to ones I saw in Europe a year ago. Take a better picture of the plug, it looks to me that it may have been replaced or else not standard US. Those were small inverter welders, not too expensive as I recall.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:My guess is it's a house brand for some retail store. Definitely from China.  Here is an example of an arc welder that looks like it is this guys younger brother. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en
Reply:Yea your rite it does look like a cheaper younger version
Reply:I think "Rocco" bought it off cousin "Giovanni" for a "favour" (importance of "smilies" can't be under stated!) Hope it works for you. Nice to get something to start with inexpensive, or I at least hope it was If it does work and you use it, I think it needs a "Fisher-Price" logo for sure. I bring a "Fisher-Price" flashlight to job sights sometimes. It lets you know if you have fellow odd-balls around you!Good luck.200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
