I was looking at the post where bruceb was showing his new mig cart he built and it inspired me to build a better one then the old piece of crab cart I had. I had some 1 inch sch 40 pipe laying around and decided to use it. I took out my trusty Harbor Freight pipe bender and plasma cutter and went at it. So here it is . not painted yet but may get around to it someday. Attached ImagesMiller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:looks great man! good job.wish i had a pipe bender oh well i might get a mig soon instead.
Reply:Wait a minute...have you worked at a grocery store welding? It looks like a grocery cart! Hahaaa...VERY cool and great design! I'm just busting your chops. Now put some flat material on the bottom so you can have room for consumables. It is GREAT compared to all the "boxy" type of welding carts...like it a bunch!edit - is that one entire piece bent around?John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Thanks for the good comments. And sorry to say its not all one piece but very close. If you look closely you will see the ground down welds just behind the front casters on the long sides. So this means that most of the bends are on one piece which I will say took awhile to get prefect , and yes it is perfectly uniform. I prefer to make things as difficult as possible for play around projects as it tests my sanity.  Working on some other projects which I will post later.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.

Reply:Nice cart there Jamlit.  Looks HD enough and you did an excellent job with the bender.  Don't take this wrong, but I looked at the photos before I read it and thought you had a great idea there, stealing the bottom of a shopping cart!  We used to do that for an engine stand in High School.  Hobart 140 Handler w/ gasHyperTherm Powermax 380 Plasmaoxy/acetylene
Reply:Thanks Rick. Maybe I should have used the shopping cart idea, would have save me some time.  As you most likely read above, Microzone also had so fun with me over the design. It isn't an original design but I like to show that even a more complex shape can be obtained with a little work with simple tools that allot of people have or easily afford. Plus I like curves over right angle. Its nice to have all the fancy tools but a little ingenuity goes along way.The funny part is that I have seen several mig welding cart that were made from shopping cart bottums.
