Reply:It stands for Army/Navy...or some say Air Force/Navy. An excerpt from WIK - "The AN thread is a particular type of fitting used to connect flexible hoses and rigid metal tubing that carry fluid. It is a US military-derived specification stemming from a joint standard agreed upon by the Army and Navy, hence AN. However, some documents say the name is really Air Force/Navy."John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:I'm thinking it's a Saturday, either the customer didn't bother to look around for the specific angle or it was just more convenient to have the Zapster give it a ZAP.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:If you say so?  But I don't get it.Is the fitting stainless steel?Isn't 5356 aluminum filler?Something doesn't add up.Sorry, I'm just wanting to get this straight since there are apparently so many beginners who might actually believe you and not realize that maybe you made a mistake or perhaps a typo.I will continue to doubt you, and everyone else, including myself.
