Hey guy's, I just recently got laid off, been welding 9 yrs and now am going to pursue my own mobile welding business. I got my truck and 1700 bucks to invest can anyone give me some advice on how to get the most for my money? I'm having a hard time finding a good generator welder on a trailer for less than 5 grand, I'm wondering if I should just buy a good welder and outfit the back of my truck. I can get work I just need to get this welder welder and a torch outfit to get going. Mike
Reply:Have you tried the local craigslist? What kind of truck do you have? If you look hard enough you can get a decent generator welder to put in the back of your truck(a used lincoln or miller trailblazer). Reply:Yeah, I've checked the craigslist here (Atlanta) and around Nothing to really bite on yet unless it's 20 yrs old. I don't want it breakin' down on me before I can even get goin' I've got a chevy 1500 (1990) Chopsaw, grinder, and  other misc tools. I can buy a good welder like a bobcat or ranger and a torch but I would have to put it in my truck. Maybe I should just outfit my truck as a rig and roll with it for now? my trouble is finding a good welder on a trailer in my budget. 4 months ago there were several. Thanks for the help guy's anything else you think of hit me up.
