NAME this fitting......

I need to get another one of the fittings but cant find it, but it would probably help if I knew its proper name or what its called.It goes to the gas hose on my TIG torch and attaches to the inverter or flow meter. The end of it is a barb fitting and when you slip the hose over the barb and unscrew the tube style nut, it squeezes around the hose pressing it against the barb and making a tight seal.Thanks SQUARE WAVE 175 TIG   DUAL MIG 151

Reply:Spar-X, this most likely is an OEM [original equipment manufacture] part.  It is not an off the shelf item, so you won't find it at any supply house even if you had its proper name.  It would be built to a manufactures specification [in a screw machine] and only go in their product.  Contact your local TIG torch dealer for the nearest authorized repair center, and expect to be disappointed.  I have not had good luck with TIG torch repair even from major repair centers.  I was told they can't get the part and you'll have to buy a new torch.  If you get the same answer, you might try to find another disabled torch and salvage the part.  Opus
Reply:The fittings are available from a number of suppliers in various styles. A quick flip through the catalogs I have don't show the style with the screw-down ferrule yours has, but there are a number of manufacturers/suppliers of the same item with crimp ferrules. These will require the appropriate crimp tool, so you will either need to get a kit, or go have a weld shop (or someone with the tool) do the crimp.  A few years ago, we picked up a western (I think) kit with parts for O/A and inert gas (hose splices, ends, ferrules, etc, for the the common hoses)
Reply:In my searches I have came across the ones that have the crimp like you described, I just liked this style and how simple it is to unscrew the end to disconnect the hose.
