Someone gave me an old miller generator powered welder but it has no leads. I was wondering what type of cable I would need to make my own? Or if it is not a good idea to do so?Thank You!
Reply:Sure make your ownI just bought some welding lead wire...3.50 per foot
Reply:Follow the proper amp/distance ratio and you're good to go to make your own.CWI, CWE, CST for Miller, Lincoln, Thermadyne, Hypertherm & ESABMillermatic 350PLincoln Invertec 205 AC/DCVictor combo torchESAB PCM 1125
Reply:The Bible has a very good chart for figuring length/gauge/amps.Your own LWS should have the equivalent sort of information.Welding leads are pretty purpose made cables. The insulation/coating is resistant to abrasion, heat, and work well at extreme temperatures. Buy lead made to function as lead. Used lead is available too, look to your local paper and Craigslist"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
