I got this cooler for 200.00 and it works great. I got the torch set up locally. Cleaned it up yesterday and flushed it out. Fired it up and did some alum. I cannot understand how I went this long without water cooling. The torch is smaller lighter and just seems better. T.J.

Reply:Yep - nice find. If you're doing thick material and some looooooooong beads, that's the way to go. For my winky thin material, I just need the air torch. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:I got my cooler on ebay as well. It was a used unit from a Lincoln Precision Tig machine. The unit originally was in a drawer in the package unit. The cooler worked fine. But I did lose a hose to it. Apparently if you use some kind of anti-freeze coolant and all the water evaporates out, it leaves residue. The residue rehydrated when I filled up the cooler, but it made a goopy mess and did not flow. It clogged the return line and just like that, the magic smoke was released from my hose set. I looked everywhere and not ONE weld shop sold replacement smoke. Can you believe that?Anyhow, cleaned it up and it has worked great. Good catch for 200bucks. Congrats. Keep an eye on that flow indicator for a while.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:TJS,You have NEVER seen the magic smoke come out of your tools? They keep that stuff under wraps and it is never listed in the MSDS. But I guarantee you it's in there. One time I was using my Makita 4inch grinder a lot. I was really bearing down on the work piece when the unit let it's magic smoke out. The thing is that the tools won't work without it and you can't buy it anywhere! If your cooler gets plugged and you keep welding with your torch, you will see a small hole in your power cable hose and your magic smoke will come out of that hole. To be honest, even if I could buy the replacement smoke, I don't know how to re-install it or how much to put back in for each tool. Maybe someone on this forum has a chart for it that they stole from a factory!C'mon, how many other users have seen their magic smoke come out?
