Well I'm no professional welder But I have owned several smaller machines. Lincoln 125Plus Millermatic 175. This 255 is really nice. Even at the lowend settings on .060 sheet the smoothest I have ever used. Puddle wets out so fricken good, smooth. Love it. Kills the 175 M.When they get to this level the price doesn't matter anymore.
Reply:I just got lin 255xt with spoolgun and dual tank set up. still on the fence.... I think I like my 20 year old miller 250 better . haven't played with the spool gun much.. I've went more tips in 2 weeks with this lincoln then I have in 20 years with the miller. Time will tell.Daye

Reply:The same difference between my Hobart Handler 175 & Lincoln SP175Plus. Hot arc with the Hobart RIGHT THE FU*K NOW!, Lincoln tiny little arc, narrow bead, but otherwise welds fine. I get good penetration with the Lincoln, just a difference in the arc characteristics.Thin sheet metal, the Lincoln is the choice. Heavy metal, Hobart all the way.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
