Repair of a belt sander belt guard. Belt wanders and wears out the back corners. Cleaned guard cut out bad sections cut patches cleaned both parts. Tacked peaces and welded with copper backer for a heat sink. More in next post.TIG 40ampsRed 1/16 ground sharp.045 308 SS filler20 CFH argon

Reply:Not all penies are copper plated zinc. I can't remember exactly, but 1984 seems to be stuck in my head for they year they switched from solid copper to copper clad.
Reply:I didn't know that. I looked it up quick and you are right -- it was 1982 to be exact. I thought it was much longer ago.Have to hoard those older pennies. And -- that stainless repair looks great.
