this is a jumbo post of this weeks jobsthis thing is an overgrown ground tiller. it is a soil stabilizer, used to churn the soil and push lime into the clay to dry it quicker to build road beds.this is the rotor from under it. it has 78 tines and stand 8 feet high. our crew ran the tines off of it and started digging with the tine holders. i didn't get pics of the whole process, this thing was a hot one so i was burning and welding 16 hours days on this one.this is it buttoned up with hardware going on. this thing was a pain in my rear, and upon completion, it blew the transmission going onto the lowboy. i was laughing so hard. i felt sick bad for the mechanic who had to stay all night and rebuild it.next on the list was some Kamatsu D21 drive sprocketsold wore out setthe replacements"Retreat hell, were just fighting in the other direction"Miller Trailblazer 302, Extreme 12 VS, Dimension 400, Spectrum 375, HF 251D-1, Milermatic 251 w/ spoolgun  Hypertherm 1000Lincoln sp 1702000 F-450 to haul it
Reply:cut out the outer sprocket, you get a better fit with the replacement. the problem with this is the drive sprocket is still on the tractor, so i have to keep the heat down. i weld one weld on one side then peen the crap out of it.move to the other side.job done!chris your gonna kill me for this. this is an example on how not to repair a excavator bucket. this little project is a used bucket heading for auction.
