I just bought a Tig 250/250 AC/DC unit. it has 4 ports in the bottom right corner of the front panel. 2 of them gas inlet/ outlet the others water inlet/outlet. how would I set up the water using tap water since there are no other water ports on the machine to tie the main water source in to.
Reply:TIG welders use a water cooler, it is a small unit that consists of a pump, radiator, fan and a tank that holds the coolant. I said coolant because they have coolant for tig welders. straight water can corrode things and build bacteria. I do believe you could use tap water as a source but you would have to dump the water away from where you are working. You could probably hook a slow flow of water to your torch inlet and just run your torch outlet to a drain bypassing the welder all together to try out the machine. But you should really have the cooler. The cooler will loop through the machine using the same water, the machine I believe has a solenoid valve that will stop water flow when not welding, and start while welding. Others will chime in and give you better Ideas. good luck."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251 Syncrowave 300 30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200 1 short hood SA250 SAM 400

Reply:in the past I have seen welding shops run water from from a tie in valve under the bathroom sink cold water line and then a return line that would discharge into the sink drain. how was this acheived?

Reply:You can use street water if the machine comes with the solenoids...You do not need a cooler...Any water source will work..I have a garden hose hooked to a garden hose outlet in the shop...Cut off the hose end and adapt the hose to a barb that fits in the water in solenoid...Add torch to the other side...You will need the big adapter that goes on the lug with the power...Attach water out to that..Using a second barb just run a piece of any hose outside to the garden or yard...Simple enough huh?...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home. |
