http://www.weldfabulous.com/Welding-...-p7590840.html Looking for a new helmet, I got a cheap auto darkining off of ebay for around 40 bucks.  It is hard to see the weld puddle when welding, sometimes I go off course unless it is very light where im working.  I use a lincoln 180 mig welder and now that I am getting the hang of things would like to upgrade my helmet.  Is this a decent helmet or would you reccomend somthing else around that price range?  Also came across this from summit racing, it is a led light that clips onto the mig tourch. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SKG-23240/  anyone ever try somthing like that?  And did you like it?
Reply:Looks like Lincoln has updated their design! Attached Images
Reply:I like the Viking since I started using it.Good, or cheap hood.........try getting behind the puddle when you weld with the small welder.  It makes visibility much better.  In other words, as you're dragging from left to right, keep your head on the left side of the puddle.  Unless you're pushing the gun, and your head is already ahead of the puddle.  (the push/pull debate will now commence)"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Will a better hood help or not? It wouldn't hurt but I think the problem is that you don't know what to look for when watching or looking at the puddle.  I'm not trying to give you a hard time about it because I had the same issue when going to school and then one day I saw the light.  After that point its all about reading the puddle and getting more seat time.
