So I got a 50ton press and a 40ton press brake as an accessory. The problem is that the ram of the press did not fit in the cup of the press brake.I was in a hurry and used it anyway. I just centered the ram on the top of the press brake cup. Normally the ram would fit into the cup. I got about 6 bends done and had to stop. It was my own fault. But no loss, because to use it the right way I still had to perform the same exact task.I used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel to remove the old cup. Then I fit up the new cup and tacked it in place when my tig module died. So I had to MIG the dang thing. I took tons of pics of the step by step but it was such a simple task that I spared you ALL the pictures! hahahaPictures are in this post and the next one. Limit 5 pictures per post. Reply:Looks like you did everything just right.
Reply:Very cool. Where did you get that press from and how much? I want something similar.
Reply:Good job! Your new cup looks much more substantial. I have a 30 Ton H-Frame press. Can I buy that brake attachment separately? Do you think it would be easy to build one?Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000
Reply:Thanks for the kind words.Yellow: The press is from Harbor Freight. I paid $800.00 for the unit and shipping to my front door. Incredible when you consider the unit weighs in at about 750 pounds. PM me before you buy one. I can tell you what you will and will not like about it. The PROs outweigh the CONS, so I would still make the purchase again. Some upgrades are coming for sure.Carl26: You can get a 40ton like mine or a 20ton, both from Northern Tool and Supply. I bought mine from the wholesale dept. of Northern Tool which is known as Great Plains. I paid 350bucks for it. It comes with 4 press plates to put under it on your press bed. After looking at how it is made, you can EASILY build one yourself. It looks homemade anyway. The only thing is you will need a mill to put the angle on the end of the punch and to put the V in the die. It came with very ROUGH surfacing on the punch. I don't know why. You will need to measure the width of your press bed to see if the 40ton will fit in yours. The 20ton is more narrow. The 40 ton fits in my bed, but just barely. But you can always turn it 90 degrees if it is too wide, as long as  your material to be bent isn't too long.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:I knew it looked familiar! I just bought one of their 20 ton A-frame presses. It works well but I am now thinking I should have bought the H frame type. The unit is pretty sturdy but a bit narrow. Perhaps I can make a mini brake for it.
