This is a center section to a roof bolter. I posted some pics a couple of weeks ago of the rear lift section of this machine. This is what it looked like when I started on it. Someone else did the initial cutting a removing of of most of the parts. Both ends will be fitted with pivots ears. This is an old style chassis I will be changing over to what is called a "roof ranger"This is the initial cutup stage. The partial axle you see in the bottom right hand corner will be completely removed. Along with the "old style" pivots. Just like the opposite(left side)I hope to be able to save the side wall, we'll see what kind of shape it is in.The pic does not show the crack well but is definitely cracked. Straight thru the axle tube hole. I will remove the whole thing rather than repair the crack. It has to be added to anyway this way i can cut out a new one to fit what I need. This shows the shape I need the side walls to be in. So the new ears can set right down on the existing side walls. This is the right hand section of the chassis after i separated it from the chassis floor and cut out the ends to the specs I needed. I realized the side walls were out of plumb so I cut the entire thing apart to straighten them up. I will install a new deck because the original was bent badly. These thing take a real beating inside the mine. More pics in next post.

Reply:wow!! talk about stripping it down. what dose it look like when its all in one pice ?? or rather what is it ?? looks like some solid steel you got to work on. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:I really enjoy seeing these big-scale projects. As a hobbiest, 1/4" thick steel is the way-upper end of anything I'd ever use, so it's neat seeing these hard-core heavy duty things that others work on. Thanks for sharing,John
Reply:I'll post finished pictures in a day or so when I finish.
