I need to fab a tire rack for my car trailer.  It has to hold 4 tires and wheels that measure 46" wide sitting side by side.  The mounted tires have a diameter of 26" and each tire/wheel weighs about 42 lbs.The trailer has a toolbox bolted to the front edge of the bed and is 48" wide x 10" deep x 22" high with the lid open.  The rack (and tires) will sit above the toolbox.  I can provide pics of the toolbox and how it's attached to the trailer tomorrow. My question is what material would be best suited for the weight (about 170lbs) distributed over the width of the rack?  Round tube would look better but angle iron would seem to be easier to work with.  I want the entire rack to be removable so the vertical legs will sit on flat plate which will be bolted to the wood deck floor.Any suggestions on material sizes for either tube or angle iron and which would be better to use would be appreciated, or if somebody has pic examples that would be great.!!TIA
Reply:2"x2"x 1/4" angle should be fine. Put the cross overs like this ^ or use pipe for cross overs and angle for uprights. You could use square tube too. That would sit into a square tube with a couple of pins through the side so it would be easy to take it off. "Every choice you make will effect at least one other person"
