Reply:That stuff is practically pure aluminum. It welds better than most any other aluminum I've welded. The only advice I have for you is just don't get a big head when you show us your first aluminum welds with the nice, neat, shiny stacks of dimes. Reply:Toilet seat/ cover. Why not, you have extra!!!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:I used some very thin left overs to skin the three lower drawers of my black Craftsman tool chest. I'm always "kicking" them shut anyway! Reply:Some friends moved into a new house and I didn't know what to give them other than beer. So I went to the shop over the weekand and made an aluminum pale(like the Corona ones at the local pub). I even reversed a 2" piece inside the rim. It was a bit tougher than I thought it would be, getting a 10 degree angle on the sides. But it turned out just fine. They show it off to all their guests now. I also made a pool stick case out of some thin aluminum also(got stole at one of those Corona bars).-MikeCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom. |
