I recently bought a 1977 lincoln sa 200 and im trying to get it running. I put a new starter, plugs and plug wires on it. I put gas in it one day and it started up 3 different times. The next day it wouldnt start at all and was leaking gas out of the carburetor gasket. I dont know very much about it. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get this thing running?
Reply:If its leaking gas around the carb gasket, then the needle valve is stuck and it is choking her to death. I just take something small like an 8 inch cresent and tap on the carb at or near the fuel line. As soon as it stops I crank it up and go to work. My sa 200 is a 1945 modle and has no starter, so dont want to crank it too much, make me and my arm sore. Harold
Reply:I really thought you would get a bunch of ideas on this one, but evidently I must have covered it. I think these things always had a habit of sticking once in a while so they just got used to it. Its not a big deal just tees ya once in awhile. Hope you are happy with her you got the best. Harold |
