What is the best way without access to oxy to put bends ETC... in mild steel rod of 4 6 & 8mm diameter.I want to make a LOT of scrolls arty type decorative panels, individual fly screen doors for house's and dividers for rooms ETC... I have a little jig made up where I put the steel rod in between two close fitting round pipes and just apply force by pulling on it, but is there an easier way to do this in bulk and get consistency in repetitive shapes??P.S. It's good to be back on the forum. Sold our house and renovated another so had no internet access for nearly a year. Lot's of juicy new projects posted here for me to look at.
Reply:my conclusion after using benders and scrollers is bendershmenderrollershmoller...the handmade jigs are the best .
