With the new emphasis on tin foil I figured this A.M. would be the day I do it..Half way to the shop I realised I had forgot the foil at home.. Stopped at the local convienence store and bought some..Put 2 pieces together in a vice and lookie here..Yup..Its done..Wog820 was there...He tried to pull it apart..It's stronger than the base foil..So yeah it can be done and everyone at class next week will see it done before their very eyes also..Then they are going to do it.Its gonna be a blast!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:So, did you do it with 7018 like was talked about or did you puss out and do it with your TIG?
Reply:ZAP, did you run the tig across the weld like in the video or try to lay down one of your beads on it. Originally Posted by WelderBoySo, did you do it with 7018 like was talked about or did you puss out and do it with your TIG?

Reply:I'll do it. I just need a couple pieces of scrap flat bar and it'll be done. Maybe i'll videotape it.

Reply:Bah, i'd do it right now if I could. I don't think my neighbors would appreciate me starting up that welder generator in the evening. They'd all come out to their windows to look at what the sound is then they'd simultaneously get flashburned. Plus I need some flat bar anyways. I bet two pieces of lumber would work too since it is so quick but I don't know if my ground would contact the foil enough. It'd probably melt the foil to my ground clamp.
