I saw this on another forum today and just had to throw this out there....OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!It is actually a roll bar made out of schedule 40 pipeCome try it out and stay a while.

Reply:heck yeah it will hold, there is too much weld there to lt anything move!  Kinda like when you tie a dog to a big tree, the dog can pull and pull but the tree ain't gonna move.My 12 year old nephew can run better beads than that, I'll have to find the picture to prove it though.  He was in the shop one day and was watching me (through a helmet) and I told him to go find a scrap piece and he could try.  We ran a few beads with me holding the electrode and h shand then I turned him loose on a few, he ran about 4-5 good beads about 4" long with a 6013 on 1/2" flat stock with about 135 amps AC.

Reply:I avoided linking pirate in here.  I have done that in the past on other forums and was critisized for language over there.  It is the SCARIEST welding I have ever seen though.     Tis why I posted a pic over here.  Come try it out and stay a while.

Reply:Looks like several generations of paint runs.  Unfortunately, I've seen a few of those here in the shop from customers.. Takes quite a while to dig though the mess to see what was going on and what was originally under there.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:You know i try not to talk to bad about other peoples work but damn thats bad.  I no professional training just experience and practice. I believe in taking pride in your work and something like that i would be embarrassed to even throw that away in my scrap barrel. A weld must be strong and safe first but right behind that a weld should look good to look good to try to get more customers.  Don't worry this guy didn't get anyone asking him to repeat this work on their ride. You know not every one should go out and buy a welder just because they can afford it and have one project to work on. Reply:Those welds were the result of a simple misunderstanding.They told him to weld it all around and don't make a mess of it.The guy who did the work was hard of hearing and heard something about making a mess out of it so . . . that's what he did.  Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.
