I have a 1948 Lincoln SA 200 Jr. It had been stored for about 3 years when I bought it. It still has the original cloth wiring in it. Would I be better off having this rewired/rewound? If so, anyboyd around Wichita, Ks know of a good place to take one? Attached Images
Reply:You can buy new cloth wiring from several places,  try the net to find one... IF U are thinking a restoration then the closer to original = more $ later. Reply:If the welder still works as is now it's worth spending some on and shouldn't need rewound but that particular one isn't worth a lot because of the Wisconsin engine on it and it's a Junior not a real SA200 or same generator as ones with Continental engines.  Local electric motor repair shops will have the cloth tape & insulating acrylic or varnish or be able to help with it if have bare spots needing attention.  Welder repair shops take the armature to electric motor repair shops all the time to be checked and re-insulated and baked.  You can get the manuals for it from Lincoln if don't have those yet.  Operator manualshttp://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...ualsearch.aspxParts Listhttp://www.lincolnelectric.com/produ...e/partsnav.asp
