Reply:I had a mate who had to move a huge piece of granite once - up some stairs. Probably weighed less than your steel, but much bigger and more awkward. He looked at hiring all sorts of lifting devices. I told him to call a piano moving company. Three islanders showed up and moved in less time and for less cost than any other option he had looked at.

Reply:Fabircate your table base.  Attach a winch to the far end ot the table Pull it onto our table base and wheel it to where you want to go.  Oh yeah, put wheels on your base.  You can put your base on a trailer in ground is not smooth.

Reply:Twice I've built props to the shop ceiling joists just wider than the pickup bed then used a 4x4 over the joists and a coffin hoist to pick the heavy stuff out. The last time was a mill-drill at 760 something lbs. I only used 2x4's on that one and they got pretty jello-ee in the middle.
Reply:If you can get a tow truck to do it for $25, I think I would consider that route.  Of course you still have to have some place to put it.I got a 1 ton dc winch from harbor freight for $45.  That should drag it off you bed onto a table top.
