Ok I thought I would just cut this shaft and grind the .085 steel including weld and presto I would have a somewhat fresh yoke to be installed..  Well after well over and hr of grinding that dreadful abrasion crap I decided to go to plan "B".  go to the shop.I just didn't feel like driving an hr and 15 min last night.       Anyway here are the picks of plan "A"    hahah enjoy a good laugh its healthy for ya   So this morning I went to the shop and tried a different aproach     Muches better weld it like you own it
Reply:Since I don't own a lathe, that's why I like a scarfing/gouging torch tip for jobs like that. You can remove all of the tubing and most of the weld w/o cutting into the yoke. For what you're doing you still need the lathe so might as well take advantage of it.                               MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
