What system do you pros use to hold thin aluminum while tig welding? I sometimes use a copper bar under flat stuff. What could you use to work on a curved piece? Thanks
Reply:For a one time job I've used particle board cut to the proper radius with a bandsaw. clamp the aluminum sheet to it. It smokes and smells a little but it works and is cheap.
Reply:C-clamps, visegrips, slideing clamps (i forget what there called), and sometimes I just lean scrap metal against the peice just so I can tack it. |
