gold shade10 lenses

i tried one of these the other day and man what difference  my eyesight isnt the best and having trouble with the darker green i tried 1 of these whata difference im not a big fan of non auto darkening hoods but now after trying the gold lens im kinda liking it  i read in a earlier post about a cobalt blue lens  i would like to try also any info would be helpfulmiller maxstar 150   hobart handler 210 w mig conversion hobart 250 arc force plasma cutter    boston ind cutting torch miller performance auto darkening helmet milwalkee 14in chop saw 10,000 watt generator huge drill press and industrial band saw

Reply:I've used the gold lenses in the past and was quite fond of them. I've since swapped over to the Lincoln Supervisibility glass lenses and haven't bought a gold in several years. I tried the Super-Vis, after having a friend recommend them to me and the price is fairly low. They're less than 2 bucks a pop at my LWS.

Reply:Some people have compared these to the old AO Cool Blue. I haven't used a Cool Blue since the early 1970s. Reply:gold lenses arent for me. i dont dig em at all... as for now, im using miller elite both analog and digital... the american optics "cool blue" that was previously mentioned are no longer in production and are wicked expensive, however, once you use one, you will not EVER wanna switch back to i dont care what color lensenothing fancy, just a few hot glue guns for metalwww.sicfabrications.com

Reply:I use a #10 green shade gold mirror and a red #11 gold mirror. I seem to remember something about the blue lenses being only for oxy fuel not for arc welding.Ranger 250 GXTSmith Gas Axe

Reply:I still have my old gold lens shade 10 that i learned to weld with.   Every now and again in throw it on to remember why i fell in love with my first auto dark hood.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
