Aceytlene Bottles

QUESTION:  Why do some Aceytlene bottles need a cylinderwrench to open them, and others have their own valve handles ?It must not have anything to do with size, because I've seen"B" size cylinders (which are quite small) that need a wrenchto open them.  Larger sizes, like 75cf. have their ownhandle on the valve....and yet others, like a 136cf. "flat-top"need a cylinder wrench to open ?   Just wondering I'll be the LAST one to let you down !

Reply:It's just a matter of what valve the distributor chose to use.In this town, you need regulator adaptors to switch from one distributor's cylinder to another distributor's.Just think how many of those damn wrenches somebody got to sell, and how many torch repairs when people used those wrenches to torque torch heads to torch handles.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-

Reply:you'd think standardization would be..........well standard! maybe they're really making some $$ on all those wrenches and adaptors. what really shocked me was right hand threads on acet. bottles when i moved to the wash. dc area. all i had in tx. were all left hand threads.
