i just bought this machine used . Its a very large machine weighing in at about 500LBs, with many dials and switches upslope , downslope , purge ETC ETC ... I would like some advice on how to get this machine going . it came with a really sturdy foot pedal and nothing else . i figure that i need a torch , gas cylinder water cooler and ground cable . and it would be nice to find a users manual . the previous owner (a machinist ) maintains that it is a Square wave unit . this i dont know , but what i have observed is that it is very well made, the knobs and buttons are of very high quality , no plastic , some resemble the dials on a bank vault . has anyone heard of this model ? hobart CT300 cyber tig 1 phase ? any info much appreciated thank you . PS , the unit was owned by the US navy and appears to have hardly ever been used .everything is temporary
Reply:Hobart doesn't list the CT 300 among their available on line manuals, but the CT 350 might be similar to your machine.http://www.hobartwelders.com/om/0300/o356j_hob.pdfIf your machine is older than the ON LINE manuals support, you may be able to get a paper copy from Hobart for 15 bucks. If it's among the designs Hobart sold to Thermal, you may be able to get the manual from Thermal.I think I'd hook up a ground and stinger first and confirm the machine does run before I got into setting up a torch and cooler.Appreciation Gains You Recognition-
Reply:the seller affirmed that it welded with arc as well as tig air cooled torch . he was someone i know and could trust . at the hobart site i cant get any of the manuals to come up for some reason . i think i will call tomorrow with serial # and try to get more info . thanks Franzeverything is temporary |
