12 dollar winch anchor for 200

well i started off needing to make a longer earth anchor for the duck boat since i couldn't find one in town and didn't want to order one here's how it broke down new radnor oxy and acetylene valves 120 bucks fill oxy 16 bucks fill acetylene 45 new 25 foot oxy ac hose 20 first i got the same size rod then heat up rod and bend into a eyethen cut both pieces to length and split down the middle on the band saw very time consuming clamp together there is a 5 inch overlap and finally bevel and weld my welds were with 35 flux core and not the best since i have now determined i need a new liner anyway just have to finish and paint and hopefully i wont have to use it and this completes building a 12 dollar anchor for 200350P 30A spool gun cut master 51  syncro 250 other stuff " take a dog off the street and make him prosper and he will not bite you sad the same cannot be said for man" i didnt use punctuation just to piss you off

Reply:Originally Posted by umahunterit was to short it started as a 2 foot earth anchor longest i could get in town. so i added another 2 ft so in the end i have a 4 foot anchor i often have to winch in sand bottom rivers and you often have to get pretty deep to get hold or your anchor just pulls right out so i cut the two halves to have just over 10 inches of weld instead of just butt welding them together
