Picture Frame

My LWS gives out my number sometimes when people call.  This was a 92 year old woman that wanted me to weld her picture frame.  She said super glue would not hold it.  I went to her place (service call) and picked it up.  Her family had given it to her.  Took it back to the shop and made a few attempts with Tig, and a propane torch.  I tried silver solder, real solder with no avail.  It must be zink or something, so I gave up.  I made a new one out of 1/4" round stock and tigged it together.  This one is a freebie.  Its a picture frame holder DavidLast edited by David R; 11-17-2007 at 07:51 PM.Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

In decorative type castings like this--it's not worth fooling around with--since the casting metal, is very low grade, and getting an acceptable repair just may not happen due to the garbage it was first made with. I tig some pot metal, it's time con$suming and highly fu$$y.Blackbird
