Reply:I have an Argon bottle from Airgas, and it's brown too. They have all been brown for a few years now. Also have small MIG bottle from Techair that is brown too. Maybe a new DOT regulation?kidtigger24 They think Im crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am MAD!
Reply:I've noticed that Acetylne tanks have gone to black too. The Ar from arigas in my garage is just like what kidtigger said, too.
Reply:makes crap awful confusing..i had the argon and the argon.co2 mix backwards...made for some awful alum welding.just wondering if it was a industry thing or a airgas thing

Reply:The mom & pop shop where I buy my gas paints every tank blue & white. That said, aren't we susposed to be checking the label before we use it?"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:labels are tiny little things the size of a qtr...if they get wet from sittin out the sun fades em and ya can hardly reaad em..ya think d.o.t. would make them be color coded for safety on the roads..fireman/crashes/whatever
Reply:Have you considered hitting the bottles with your own coding system?Find yourself some kind of marker that you can clean off with a bit of acetone (Is there any kind that you can't?) and either get them in various colors or use words or single letters and/or numbers. You could probably do this with some kind of colored spray as well. Spray the caps and the bottles with a touch of it, and group the bottles according to their contents of that might help.It is a little extra work, but I am not sure what else you can about it besides complain to airgas and ask them to do this for you to some degree.Hit them as soon as you get them with a touch of pink, blue, red, black or whatever and you'll be good to go.Miller 330 a/bp water cooledI believe in gun control, I hold my gun with two hands.
