I know this isn't really a welding project, but it was kind of slow today at work so I laser cut this Miller sign. I drew it up in AutoCAD a while back and finally had time to cut it today. Just messin' around. Attached ImagesLincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000

Reply:Thanks. Sorry, I forgot to say that it is made of 1/8" acrylic then I assembled it with double sided tape. I usually cut steel, but acrylic is fun to work with too.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000

Reply:I work at a small gasket mfg. shop. So a lot of our laser cut parts are prototypes or small orders. The welding I do at work is mostly for light fabrication and repair. As for the sign, I could make more but I need to get some different white acrylic because if you look closely you can see through it. You can see the hanger in the back. It's not that big of a deal, but I'd like it to be a little less translucent, more of a solid white.Last edited by Carl26; 12-11-2007 at 09:53 PM.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000

Reply:Here's another part I cut a while ago for another guy. I think he said it was for some kind of driveshaft mounted brake rotor. I think it's a four wheel drive thing so you can lock the driveline while rock crawling if you need to. It's made of .156" hardened steel. The imperfections you see near the lower left and upper right holes are not from the laser. He tried to drill holes then use a reciprocating saw to cut the large inner hole. He didn't want to buy a new piece of steel so I had to use the one he already hacked up. Reply:Amada had a BIG presence at FABTECH in Chicago. Their machines are top $$$ but quite nice. IIRC one of the plaques on the machine had "Made in Japan" riveted on it.

I thought LaGrange looked familiar. The Metra BNSF line from Aurora to Chicago stops there. But if you need anything cut let me know. I may be able to help you out.
