I am going to start building an engine run stand this week. This picture is my engine on my buddie's stand. I have a radiator and manulal trans bell housing for it, just need a fly wheel.Has anyone built one? I am not going to copy his exactly, I have some ideas of my own to make it more universal. I also want wheels so it is more mobile for staorage. This one has a K-frame from an early Chrysler and only fits big block Mopars.Miller 252 Mig WelderMiller Spoolmatic 15AMiller Econotig TIG/ARC WelderMiller Spectrum 375 Extreme Plasma Cutter

Reply:Not sure if this will help you or not, but the ones I've seen in trade school in '92 were 1-1/2" square tubing complete roll cage frame. Bolt on OEM style radiator. Interchangeable pads for motor mounts. Back end had multiple mounting points for mid engine plate and bell housing. Also had battery, and small control panel for ignition and start buttons, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, Volt Meter, Amp meter, etc etc as we used them for engine diagnostics.Stands were on wheels as well. Worthwhile investment.Later,Jason
Reply:We had a few in school. They were permanently mounted with city water plumbed to cool them. We used them for testing purposes. Thermal efficiency and Fuel economy in horse power hours per gallon. We had both gas and diesel. Had to write a bunch of reports yadda yadda......Is this for utility use or testing?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I will e-mail a buddy who has one. What I like about his is it has a dash board type set up mounted next to it. When he builds a motor the customer can see the all the important info. Sounds a lot like Black Wolfs set up.Love your avatar picturereber

Reply:The one in the picture had a tach, temp and oil guage. The tach never worked and we had to jump the starter with a screw driver, LOLHe straightened those items out and even mounted a fuel tank after this shot was taken.I was thinking about incorporating a fuel tank in the tubing and using an electric fuel pump, I don't have a fuel pump eccentric on my cam for a mech pump.Miller 252 Mig WelderMiller Spoolmatic 15AMiller Econotig TIG/ARC WelderMiller Spectrum 375 Extreme Plasma Cutter
