Reply:Nice score. I wish I could get deals like that around here.
Reply:Scrap is mostly what I work with. Just don't "save" it until you find a project "worthy" of "wasting" it. It'll just pile up and rot, and then it'll be back to the scrapyard! Speaking from experience. ie; just scrapped two 20' lengths of 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle. I was saving it for a "good" project, and now it's trash. Use it and then get some more. Resist the "lucky" feeling. THERE IS ALWAYS SCRAP!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Wow. that is awesome. I ought to start checking out the scrap yards for a table top and legs, instead of going the skeleton route on 1" x 1/8" square tube
Reply:Scrapyard is a great place to look. That is where I buy 90% of my stuff.http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=46156

Reply:I saved the doors off the old furnace when it was replaced - good weight and nice formed edges. They will make good shelves on the next cart I build..John |
