thick wall piped

I'm estimating 24" dia, 3" thick wall A106 pipe. Anybody have experience welding thick walled pipe. Full pen per ASME.

Reply:estimating means he is  determining the cost of some work in preparation of presenting a bid..he needs to know the productivity factor..the labor..how many manhours to weld such a joint..

Reply:pre-heat, post heat, rt, constant fire, rigging, fitting, i can throw you a number but what is it you are trying to bid? just the weld? plan on no less then 48 hrs of welding for 2 men brother-in-lawing, and not running 3/32 either, i would bet dollars to doughnuts that this isnt just a106 though, sounds like some steam piping, how about insulation removal? how about lead paint abatement? next time ask questions, bring them here and we can help, but not without all the parts to the equation, also i asked our estimater here (my brother) and he would bid it for no less than a 100 hrs a weld, hope that helps
