My LWS sent this guy to me. Its a part off a ford tractor 3 point hitch. The customer said he had a welder but it was too small. I am glad he realized that. Steel is 1/2" plate. You can see the weld on the gusset didn't hold at all. Factory welds....I veed it out, welded one side, turned it over and back ground and welded the back side. I also ground off the "factory" welds with a die grinder and replaced them with my own.Pulsed Spray Mig, 98/2, .045 wire (should have used .035) @ 250 ipm.This is the other side getting ready to break.Last edited by David R; 02-08-2008 at 06:37 PM.Real world weldin. Reply:Both sides of the completed welds. I cleaned out the holes with a die grinder and checked them for size with a drill bit.Total time for the job, 45 minutes. DAYM!
