Here's a project I've been meaning to finish this winter. My stand up jet ski needs a bit of work, plus a home during the winter. So I have a cart I'm working on. It's based on the engine stand that my 396 sat on a few times. The welds were made with a dialarc 250, DCEP, approx 90A. I tried to make sure I went around the corners. Rod is 3/32 7018. There will be 2x4's bolted to the angle iron, and wrapped with turf. I made a single pass, the ski only weighs 350 lbs or so..it aint going anywhere. Attached Images
Reply:kinda looks like my welding cart, that would also double as an engine stand. are you building this to keep the jet ski out of the weather, or to be able to work on it
Reply:It's for storage and to work on. I still need to modify my trailer to carry the standup. It isn't much of a problem to put a 300# ski on a couple of stands, but it's a pain if you want to move it.I still need to make a couple of racks for my sitdowns. I want to be able to stack them, as they are out in the snow under a tarp right now. I need to be able to do winter maintenance on them without having to drag the trailer into my garage.
