im pretty much decided on buying a miller dynasty 200dx, but was suggested to not get the contractor kit and to piece together parts instead. i have not done any tig before so im not completely familiar with all the parts. it was suggested to me to buy a weldcraft torch. the wp-17 i believe is the correct size for this machine. i was a foot remote and i have seen some millers go for around $200 and some non millers for cheaper. should i stick with a miller remote or are there other manufacturers that make good remotes? lastly, the regulator is not something that i know brands about. whats good for regs? im not looking for top of the line stuff, but i also dont want something thats gonna break or be too cheap. thanks for any suggestions.
Reply:For mine I went with the Ck-17 superflex cable torch. The foot pedal will save you a about $50.00 going with SSC controls. It's actually a higher quality pedal than Miller's standard pedal which is plastic. Service and hookup are not an issue. There heavy duty which of course cost more. You can find them on e-bay searching for Miller foot...The ground cable and clamp can be had at any welding store. Would purchase a flowmeter for the tig for precise CFM flow rates. Smith makes decent flowmeters. Get Lanthanated tungsten for the Dynasty...This will get you started...Millermatic 210Dynasty 200DX Fisher CZ-5Trek 5500
