Ok so I picked up a job that I am going to need about 300-500 scrolls so I decided to buy a bender to make my own repeated size scrolls. Post up some projects that you have made out of scrolls. not from the scroll bender but here is a gate I made a while back. I made have posted this before but here it is again. (all hand bent scrolls)
Reply:What are you making with 300-500 scrolls? Here's a few scrollies I made with my Shop Outfitters scroll bender. Attached Images
Reply:I am making a 150' long fence with a set of scrolls every 4 feet or so plus some security doors and window bars
Reply:I think I just posted this a while ago, but here it is again- a fence I installed in December in Downtown Phoenix.Around 800 scrolls, in 1/2" round stainless, each piece is forge textured, than scrolled, then cut and fitted and tig welded in place. Outside frame is 5/8" round stainless. Scrolls are between about 8" and 24" in diameter.
Reply:Mine just arrived today.
Reply:Nice looking work,all of you.
Reply:So how do you plan to paint the fencing and doors and bars? Sounds like a fun time painting all those scrolls.

Reply:painting is not so bad. it is just the final touch of what I like to call art work. Scrolls are not my thing but I have many customers that like them. I guess they could work with my style as I like to take non contemporary pieces and make them in to one big contemporary (or atleast modern) design. but I guess rusting items is my favorite finishing touch.
Reply:Nice work! A scroll bender is on my "to buy" list.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com |
