Reply:Micro - you gotta quit linking us to pics on your own forum since it appears you have to be a loggged in member to see them.  This is the second link to pics on there that I've come across in the last 5 minutes.  You're just trying to get more traffic over there, aren't you?
Reply:due to the fact that Micro wants to be selfish and not post the pics up here (just kidding mang), here they are for y'all's viewing pleasure.Later,Andy
Reply:Looks like the weld beads are being run to camber the plate. I have used the same method to take the sag out of I beams used under long heavy duty over the road boat hauling trailers.
Reply:okay, i'll bite, but what size of stick/wire would you need and what would your settings be to get that large of a bead?Later,Andy

Reply:Originally Posted by MicroZoneI apologize, traffic - no. I just don't like double posting. Why post the pictures, vids or documents on 3 different sites when you can link? I just take advantage of technology or shortcuts. Thanks Andy for posting, I was busy all day at work. On a side note, my forum is based more for family, friends and people that want to be buds...or more friendly. An open atmosphere ...if you will. Sorry if I stepped on any toes.
Reply:I'm fine by it micro. I'm not terribly sure, but it looks like wear clad plate to me. I could be totally wrong though. How about an answer as to what it is?The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Micro - I was just ribbing ya!  I just haven't taken the time to register on yours yet...
Reply:Gotcha...I don't mind.  The plate is Chromium Carbide explosion welded to 1/2 plate steel. It is used in some type of medium transport system.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
