I'm looking into getting a new welder and the 350 is on sale at the local supplier. I like the option of the multi process. I want to get into Tig and more into aluminum. Could you guys out there that have this machine give me some info on it, likes dislikes.... It is more than I need but more is better thanks
Reply:the lincoln power mig is DC only, typically for most applications ac is used to tig weld alum. If the distributor insists it will tig alum ask them to show you. The power mig sells for upwards of $3k, could buy a 185TSW (thermal arc) tig machine for well under 2k. What are you trying to be able to weld, materials and thicknesses? BW
Reply:yea thats a huge machine for anyone besides a welding shop and even then u have to be welding a huge peice of steel
Reply:The big plus about these machines is that they are pulse machines. The customized currents available in this machine is hard to imagine until you use one. We have several power wave units in our shop. You are buying a power supply that can be infinitely controlled by Lincoln's software. These machines will be able to run wire and gas combinations that have not been thought of today but will appear in the future. |
