LR70s-6: I thought Radnor was OK, made in China. Thermal Arc welds cleaner, made in China too. I am waiting to try out the Hobart brand that came with my MM211, packaged in USA. But that will have to wait till I burn thru the previous mentioned.E71T-GS: I have tried HF Flux in the past and did not think to kindly of the wire. It seemed all it wanted to do was splatter. I have a fresh roll and would like to see how much my new machine makes a difference. Made In Italy. Are there any redeeming qualities for Chicago Electric MIG wire? ER70S: I have some Lincoln Super Arc I have yet to try. Made in Mexico. What do you like to use?BillMillermatic 2111960 Ford Ranchero1975 Dodge B200
Reply:I just bought some Harris 1/16" ER702-6 on Fri.  It's made in Freakin India..I'm bringing it back to the LWS & returning it.  It's got surface rust in a BRAND NEW BOX!!I already told those dough heads that I want USA made stuff, even if it's more $$....Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:We've changed to Lincoln on everything that's available domestically.  Not a single problem with any of the hardware used in GMAW applications.
Reply:I've been using Harris or Techalloy filler in the shop lately.  Mostly ER70 S-6 and ER308.  On occasion when I need some Inconel or similar materials, I try to stick with the premium brands. At home, it's been only Lincoln electrodes.
Reply:I have used McKay ER70S-6 in .035 & .045 and it's ALWAYS been great. However, last time I bought it was a house brand called Prostar from Praxair. I was told it was made by Lincoln. It runs fine also. I would think if you stuck with McKay, Lincoln or Hobart,  you wouldn't have any problems."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:If it's availible, I always buy Lincoln consumables. I just seem to have good luck with it. If not I will buy Hobart.StephenMillermatic 251Miller Syncrowave 200Miller 30A SpoolgunHypertherm Powermax 30Etc., etc., etc.............Cancer Sucks!
Reply:Esab and Hobart.
Reply:At work we used to use all Thermal Arc ER70S-6 ...now its Techniweld ER70S-6. both run good in the Thermal Arc Fabricator 251. In between the 2, when they wanted to switch to a more inexpensive brand (im assuming that's why we switched), a roll of Washington Alloy ER70s-6 showed up. I tried it out and found it to spit and pop some. Also IIRC it ran cold compared to the others. I promptly handed the roll in box back to my supervisor and asked for something I could work with. That's when we got the Techniweld, haven't had a problem with it yet. Once in a while the lady in ordering has them send the W. A. and I have the supervisor call and remind her that I can't use it.
Reply:I try to run the premium brands as well. I'm currently building a trailer (see thread Welding Projects and Pictures; Custom Built Trailer) and needed a spool of wire for my feeder. All my LWS had in stock at that moment in 44 lb. .030 ER70S-6 wire was Techniweld. I had to have it and so far I've burnt more than a quarter of the spool and it's ran fine. Can't tell any difference between it and the Hobart ER70S-6 spool I took out...Miller XMT-3502 Lincoln Power Mig 140C (One w/ dedicated spoolgun)Jackson NexGen / Miller Digital EliteMiller S32P SuperWeldcraft 17fv & 9fv Tig TorchVictor & Purox O/ALincoln Ranger 9Fairly Cold Beer!!
Reply:I like some of the wires that Linde BOC supplies. Runs smooth. There flux chips nice as well. Lincoln is good as well.
