Does anyone know the basic settings on a welding machine to hardsurface using rods. DCEP, DCEN, AC, etc. . . ?
Reply:It depends on the product. Low heat settings are often recommended to reduce admixture. You want a realtively high bead and you don't want the alloy diluted by the parent metal. Straight polarity is sometimes used to reduce the penetration but you really need the manufacturers specs. Pattern of weld beads is also very important. |
