Band mambers

I got the idea somewhere about six months ago and made my daughter one for her birthday since she is into art and the high school marching band. She's in the 8th grade and been playing with the high school marching band for a year and a half now. The winter drumline is over today and she won't see a few of the seniors anymore so she asked me to make each senior leaving one with the instrument that they play so she can give them as a going away gift, so here they are. Reply:Thats great work. I've seen alot of things one with spikes but this is #1. Next the rest of the 110 pc band. Then the baton twirlers, flag carriers, football team, cheerleaders..... Looks like you may be busy. BTW This may be a great way to raise money of the band, if you make them to sell. I'd certainly consider one if the price was right. (I want a tuba! Or maybe a trombone...) If the school has a votech program the kids could make em for the band.If nothing else, I'd do one of the band instructor leading the band. I garuntee they will never forget your daughter with a gift like this.

Reply:That's a great use for spikes.To stay with the drum theme, here is the first project I ever did with my Farmhand 110v GMAW/FCAW welder a few years back. Reply:That's awesome!  I made something more or less unrepeatable at work for my supervisor a few months back, and he said that I should have made another one right in front of it with a nut instead of a rod, and have the rod sticking through the nut.  I'll leave it at that!  Regardless, boredom is a funny thing!  Actually, now that I think about it, I believe it was inspired by Zap's weenie roasters!Last edited by mb_welder; 04-08-2008 at 07:29 AM.
